align honing: this process used in engine freshen-up, with a known straight line bore, using a full length honing bar through the main caps.   never attempt to straighten main bores that are banana-shaped in length, main caps and bores that are egg-shaped, and/or attempt to align hone steel caps on a cast iron or aluminum block! align boring is an accurate, necessary process.  Use it!
